And just like that, 24 days of cookies becomes 23 days of cookies. It’s slightly disappointing because I wasn’t busy yesterday, I just had one of those beautiful lazy days where I blew off my to do list and drank tea all day, playing cards with friends and ending it all with community Christmas carols and It’s a Wonderful Life.
I regret nothing. Continue reading
Our Christmas tree is up! I’m so excited. My housemates were hanging out for me to come home so we could decorate it together. Unfortunately we don’t have a real tree but I will be acquiring a pine scented candle sometime soon so we’ll still have that amazing Christmas scent. Mmm. Christmas. Pine. Continue reading
Time for something completely different. Yes, that’s right, it’s time for the annual quick-review-of-books-I-have-finally-had-time-to-read-now-that-I-moved-into-a-stable-house-and-have-free-time!
Oh, that’s not a thing? Also the name is too long? Party poopers. Ah, well, we’re doing it anyway. Books are great gifts. You should totally get a book for someone this Christmas. Give the gift of another world. Continue reading
The feast day of St Nicholas, the man behind the story of Santa Claus, is the 6th of December (tomorrow) but in Holland, where my mum’s family is from, they celebrate Christmas on the 5th. (That’s today, in case you were still figuring that out.) I wanted to share a recipe for speculaas, a Dutch spiced cookie, but unfortunately I haven’t yet gotten around to making them so you’ll have to wait a little longer. Continue reading

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! My newsfeeds are filling up with instagram photos, status updates and tweets all about Christmas. Trees are going up, carols are being sung and most importantly, cookies are being made.
Mmm, cookies. Continue reading
Another day, another dollar. Or in this case, another cookie. Cinnamon roll cookies. Cinnamon rolls for when you don’t feel like waiting for dough to rise. Cinnamon rolls that will keep for more than two days – if you don’t eat them all in one go because they’re so good. Continue reading
Look, I know you’re jealous. You don’t have to say so. I’m in Perth on a two-week holiday where all I have to do is go to the beach every day and be perfectly relaxed. It’s a hard life, I know.
Here, have some cookies. Continue reading
Good morning, starshine! The earth says hello. Particularly this little corner of it, over here in PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA!
I’m just a little excited to be here, I don’t know if you can tell. It’s sunny, the mangoes are abundant and there are lots of awesome people around. Also, I got my nails done and they’re pretty. There’s a lot to be exited about. Continue reading
I’m thinking of getting an iPhone.
